Hypocrite

I've rolled my eyes at the parties, the standing in line for the first copies of the DVD, the constant oohs and ahhs over Edward. I had no idea who Bella, Edward, Jacob, etc. were and didn't care one red cent to find out about them. I figured it was an adult version of Harry Potter, and I can't stand Harry Potter.

So I'm a big old hypocrite. A year later....maybe it's two.....I'm jumping on the bandwagon.
One day, someone offered us a copy of the movie. Fine, I thought, I'll see what all this hype is about. So we watched......Taylor pretended to snore through the first half. I was intrigued pretty much from the start and had to tell him to shut up. Then it started to pick up and suddenly there was no more snoring from the peanut gallery. I LOVED the movie. I'm pretty sure he liked it too. Can't wait for the next one.

Now I've borrowed the book from a friend and I'm glued. Poor Benjamin is getting neglected.....at least till I'm finished with the book.

Josh said I neglected all of them and my house while I read the books. Nena had been telling me for a couple years to read Twilight and said how good it was...I'm not a big reader to begin with so I didn't until I heard the movie was coming out. I watched the trailer and thought Edward was HOT so I started to read. Four weeks later I was done with all four books. BTW..Josh really liked the movie. He saw it with me opening night and said he will go see New Moon with me too.

Okay I totally love the books-have read them multiple times, but I have to say I am just not a fan of the movie-I was just really disappointed with it. But I really hope you like the books.

What's with not liking Harry Potter? I understand the movies are not as good, but really not even the books huh?

I don't think I'll EVER try reading Harry Potter. Just can't get into sorcery, all those made up words, etc.

Kati....I am also not much of a reader, but when I get the right book, I'm completely glued. I agree with you about Edward (don't tell Taylor I said that).....I'll probably be able to get Taylor out to the actual movie as well.

The books are fabulous! The movie...OK. My friend had never read the Harry Potter books, she had only seen the movie. So I lent her the books to read and she loved them. You should give them a go. All the millions of people that have read them can not be wrong.

Now you are "officially" my friend! You'll have to come to our "New Moon" party at Kati's. I knew you'd cave!

So funny, as I read this the movie is on in the background. I am up at my mom's house because Emily is in town. Both my sisters just read the book this last week and are totally hooked! I must admit I did go to the midnight showing on opening night... just because all my girlfriends were going and I got the invite. Now, I am going back and reading the books. So basically, I with ya on being a hypocrite too! Now the question is... can we get Rachel hooked?

Well I am a big reader. Too big. And there are things I love about both sets of books (Twilight and Harry), but I think it's clear that Edward is hotter than Harry and that's what is important. [:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! They got you too!!! :) I actually didn't mind the movie, but the books...pretty lame. I read the first, then got halfway through the second and stopped because I was bored. I must be crazy. I'm sure it's not that the books are that bad, but it was probably one of those waaaaaay over-hyped sorts of things. So, Nora, I hope this answers your question that I will most likely never really become a fan. :)
